Plant-based purity

We specify organic sources, such as plant-derived vitamins and minerals, whenever possible. Many mass market and physician-prescribed multi-vitamins, mineral and iron supplements are sourced from inorganic sources such as rock or metallic shavings.

Most Universal Formulas products are from plant-derived, organic sources such as vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, and grains. The exception is our Vitamin A, which is from deep-sea fish, and Vitamin D, which is from sheep’s wool.

Certified organic, wildly crafted whole herb

Universal Formulas uses the whole herb, which contains hundreds of essential components that work together for a greater effect on the body. In all of our products, we prefer wildly crafted, certified organic herbs, rather than commercially grown.

Universal Formulas is working on sourcing all of our ingredients to be Certified Organic, while at the same time focusing on maintaining affordability. But our No. 1 goal, whether the herbs are organic, wildly crafted or commercially grown, is to ensure they produce the effect for which they are intended. Our sources are compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices and abide by strict standards of purity of all ingredients.

Enzymes intact

Universal Formulas uses naturally dried and water-cured herbs to retain more live enzymes. We do not heat herbs, which would kill the enzymes needed to help aid in digestion. In some cases we utilize herbal extracts, which result in a higher benefit for the specific formula.

Optimal potency

Universal Formulas’ ingredients are harvested at their peak from providers of the highest integrity. The ideal species of herbs and ratio of ingredients are manufactured to our formulations to ensure optimal potency. A batch analysis certifies there are no bacteria, micro-organisms, pesticides, or insecticides in any of our products.

Non-GMO

Universal Formulas uses non-genetically modified organisms (GMO) in our formulas. GMOs are organisms that have been created through genetic engineering, where DNA from one species is injected into another species in a laboratory, creating combinations of plant, animal, bacteria, and viral genes that do not occur in nature.

In 30 countries around the world, including Australia, Japan, and all of the countries in the European Union, there are significant restrictions or outright bans on the production of GMOs, because they are not proven safe.

What are fulvic minerals?

Fulvic acid occurs naturally in minute quantities in most soils and is the delivery system for plants to absorb and utilize the minerals from the soil. Fulvic minerals form when fulvic acid converts inorganic metallic and rock minerals into a biologically active form. These minerals are rich in iron, magnesium, calcium, chromium, copper, zinc, and many more trace elements.

Research has shown fulvic minerals perform as a powerful delivery system, carrying 60 times their weight in nutrients of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes into your body’s cells. Plant enzymes and probiotics

Practitioners strongly suggest their clients supplement with digestive enzymes and probiotics to build immunity, detoxify the body, and enhance absorption. It was a natural step for Universal Formulas to include these in the majority of our products.

Enzymes digest the muco-proteins and fats in the lymph system and fat cells of the body, which greatly assists the liver for helping maintain healthy cholesterol and clean blood vessels. They strip the protein and fat coatings off viruses, bacteria, yeast, fungus, and cancer cells, which strengthens our immune response.

Universal Formulas takes great effort to maintain the integrity of enzymes as they naturally occur in nature. Our harvesting process avoids excess heat, which preserves the natural enzymes found in herbs.

Our enzyme formulations are derived from plants, aspergillus, and rezopis var, rather than animal sources. Plant enzymes have a wide operating range of pH activity (3.0-9.0), making them far superior to animal-sourced enzymes with a lower pH. The low pH causes them to breakdown prematurely in the stomach, rather than the intestine.

Probiotics (healthy intestinal bacteria) counteract an overgrowth of unhealthy bacteria and yeast. A healthy intestinal tract performs its functions better in eliminating waste, producing vitamins, and preventing disease throughout the body, which helps you navigate physical, mental, and emotional stress.

Micronized minerals

Universal Formulas’ minerals are easy to absorb because they are micronized (ground into microscopically fine particles) powder in a capsule. The ”bite size” granules also allow fulvic acids to better attach to them, improving cell delivery. Scientific studies have demonstrated that mineral formulas in a tablet are not as bioavailable as a micronized capsule form.

The form of calcium and magnesium is important, as our body cannot assimilate or digest the cheap rock and metallic forms found in the supplement market today. Universal Formulas’ calcium and magnesium products are plant-derived, which is the most bio-available form.

No dyes, preservatives, artificial agents, or unnecessary fillers

Universal Formulas does not flavor our products or make them look pretty. We don’t use anti-caking agents or flow agents to make the encapsulation process faster. We don’t use fillers to make the capsules look full; we jam-pack them with nutrients as listed fully on our label.

Vegetarian-friendly and gluten-free

Universal Formulas’ products are vegetarian-friendly, using vegi-capsules whenever possible. All of our products are sourced from plants when available. The exception is Vitamin A, which is sourced from deep-sea fish and purified to remove any toxins or chemicals, and our Vitamin D3, which comes from the wool of sheep (no animal is harmed in the process). Since gelatin capsules (from an animal source) are necessary for Vitamins A, E, and D3, these products may be unsuitable for vegetarians.

Our products are safe for those with a gluten intolerance and do not contain any antibiotics or hormones.

BPA-free

Certain plastics leach BPA chemicals into the food they touch, so we choose BPA-free packaging for all of our products. Our vegetable capsules and BPA-free bottles seal out moisture, air, and light; therefore, there is no need to refrigerate them.
